Who we are
Socialist Gallery is an online gallery specializing in the direct sale and brokerage of art and retro items from the socialist era. Our main focus is on art and collectibles from the communist era of Czechoslovakia (1945-1989), but we also offer older socially oriented works and art from other geographic areas. We offer a wide range of collectibles such as paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, posters, sculptures, postcards, matchbook stickers, memorabilia and other artifacts.
Thematically, we are interested in social art, socialist realism and official art before 1989. We also focus on propaganda objects, industrial art, themes from the working environment, artistic representations of World War II, portraits of important personalities, and objects associated with historical cosmic flights.
Our gallery focuses on works by prominent artists of the former regime and members of art associations, as well as lesser-known artists who, although not associated with state commissions, were allowed to create. In our offer you will also find many unauthorized objects.
